4. Burger Brothers Brighton – for a Gourmet Takeaway Cheeseburger

Burger Brothers Brighton is an independent takeaway burger joint in Brighton that’s been dubbed the #1 burger restaurant in the UK by TripAdvisor travellers. And it’s not surprising. Despite being a laidback hole in the wall that focuses on serving fast food in polystyrene boxes rather than a sit-down restaurant experience, the time and effort that goes into each burger is amazing. Each burger is made with locally sourced 100% prime British beef that is minced right here on the premises.

In order to set expectations, we should probably mention that they don’t serve fries… But the burgers themselves more than makeup for it. For your typical cheeseburger, the Single Jack hits the spot with its slice of creamy Monterey Jack cheese, mayo and Tommy K, or step it up a notch with the Classic Beef which comes with a slice of cheddar cheese, plum tomatoes, wild rocket, mayo, and caramelised onions. There’s also a Veggie Special burger that’s served with Beachwood smoked cheese.

Not your typical cheeseburgers, Burger Brothers also offers a Bennetton Burger that’s served with award-winning Tuxford & Tebbutt Blue Stilton, chorizo or halloumi, and wasabi mayo. The restaurant’s ‘favorite’ comes with creamy goat’s cheese, roasted peppers, honey mustard, caramelized onions, and the restaurant’s mysterious secret sauce. We doubt it’ll happen but if you find there’s not enough cheese, you can always add more – premium and sliced cheeses are available as extras from just £1.
