The breakfast here may be traditional, but the building certainly isn’t at the Birdcage Bandstand Cafe Bistro. Located on the lower promenade sandwiched between Pebble Brighton Beach and King’s Road, it serves local dog walkers and beach visitors alike.

Brighton Beach Map of Cafes and More

I have created a super helpful bespoke Google map for all the essentials you need, not only when on Brighton beach, but when organising a great day trip to Brighton beach as well. Set yourself up for a stress-free day trip and save some pennies in the process.

The Bandstand Cafe on Brighton Beach, UK

There is a great community feel here. The mainly outdoor seats are bustling with conversations and the faint aroma of coffee and steaming traditional English breakfasts being served quickly and frequently.
There is a great community feel here, as there is always something other than just the table and chair activities of an open-air cafe buzz here.
There is always more; within the two walled areas on either side of the bandstand cafe building, on the west side are 3 table tennis tables that are always in use, with nearby people sipping drinks and waiting their turn.
While on the eastside, there may be morning meditations or even a yoga class taking place; you never know. All this activity is overlooked by the towering and ornate cast-iron bandstand itself.
Said to be the best surviving example of Victorian Bandstands in the Country and nicknamed the Birdcage (for obvious reasons), The Brighton Bandstand stands un-modestly plumbing above the cafe beneath and its nearby surroundings.

They hold events upon the bandstand as well, rarely do you get traditional

Bandstand events

The Bandstand hosts a variety of bands every Sunday throughout June, July and August. These performances usually take place from 2 pm until 4 pm, depending on the weather.

Any bands interested in performing should contact our Events Office.

Wedding Venue and Catering

The Bandstand cafe also caters for wedding parties and functions. With the catering skills to work with any budget and cuisine. while the Bride and groom, or bride and bride or groom and groom lovingly tie the knot overhead, with a 180-degree view of the sea and Brighton beach.

While the original design of the bandstand used to differ from the design that is currently visible to visitors at Brighton, the overall structure remains the same. The ground floor of the bandstand which used to be used as public convenience was restored and converted to a café nearly 2 decades ago. The conversion was a great success and the Bandstand Café has been running and flourishing ever since.

Food and Drink

When it comes to breakfast options, the menu at the Bandstand café is quite extensive, from poached eggs to sandwiches to vegan options to Full English, no matter what your preference is, you are sure to find something to eat there. The important thing is that no matter what choice you make you are guaranteed to receive a great meal.

The service and staff at the bandstand are friendly and they always ensure that any dish that comes out of the kitchen is well cooked and tasty. When it comes to good food, feel good, beachfront cafe in Brighton with a splendid view, I do recommend the Birdcage Bandstand Cafe Bistro, for a visit any time of the day, saying that it does close at 8 pm
